From 2006 through 2008 she, and her husband the Rev. Donald W. MacKay, served with International Ministries in Ghana, West Africa assisting the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in the development of its rather extensive lay training and catechist program.
Leadership development and education have always been a focus in her ministry. Marion has served on several national church committees, was the first Canadian to serve as President for the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) and has been a workshop leader and speaker in Canada, the USA and Ghana. She has also served terms as Moderator for the Presbyteries of Calgary-MacLeod and Cape Breton. She has lived “coast to coast” in Canada having been raised in Maple Ridge, BC, just east of Vancouver.
