St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Celebrates 175 years as a Congregation …
The people who call St. Andrew’s their home church have been doing so for 175 years! St. Andrew’s has occupied its current position on the corner of Main and Queen Streets in Sydney Mines becoming a true corner stone for a community who has helped her congregation celebrate 175 anniversaries!
Through the years, St. Andrew’s has held steadfast in its mission: to know Christ and to make him known; to proclaim the Gospel and to inspire in all persons a passion for righteousness and an awareness of their duties to their community.
In the upcoming months, St. Andrew’s will play host to the community offering anniversary events designed to commemorate its 175 years. The congregation will open its doors on April 9th, 2015 to share the musical talents of Canadian Tenor Ken Lavinge while a full weekend of anniversary activities is planned for May 23/24. On June 10th, the community will be invited to share in the musical ministry of the Ontario Presbyterian Chorus. Stay tuned for the full information regarding these upcoming events.
Come help us Celebrate! Come help us Commemorate! Come as the congregation proclaims the Good News through music, ministry and community appreciation!
